dsDNA Autoantibodies

Used in the diagnosis of acute or recent infection (usually 6 months or less) with hepatitis A virus (HAV). This is an in vitro diagnostic immunoassay for the qualitative determination of IgM response to HAV. The presence of IgM antibody to HAV is diagnostic of acute HAV infection. To reduce false-positive tests, persons should only be tested for IgM anti-HAV if they are symptomatic and suspected of having HAV infection.

*This test may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (also termed as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H, or coenzyme R). It is recommended that patient stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample.
